I was born at an early age. As a baby, I was rocketed to Earth in the hopes I would gain powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal man. So far, not so good. Most days I’m a professional copywriter, author, essayist, husband, father, and scrambled eggs maker.
In my diverse and varied career, I’ve excelled as a national magazine editor and writer, ad agency copy monkey, speech teacher, web content writer and designer, and burger flipper. I have more than 25 years of marketing and promotional experience including managing events, writing advertising copy, creating websites, and showing college kids how to speak in front of an audience.
A few years ago, I wrote a children’s book inspired by a bedtime story I used to tell my daughter called Goodnight Princess. It’s fun. Grab a copy for your favorite storyteller.
For more mature audiences, I’ve written The Beautiful Kill. This fumetti project is a dark tale of two assassins and only one stays alive. It’s a noir-ish, first person point-of-view tale of seduction and death. Not for the kids.

I’ve gone all in with the Medium Partner Program and nearly 20 years of essays, short stories and more are available at my Medium Publication, Sean McDevitt | Writer. You can follow my latest scribblings (and the occasional photo) on my blog. If you like my writing, let me know via comments or claps. If you feel even more generous, please visit my Amazon wish list.
I’ve curtailed my use of social media considerably, but I do tweet infrequently on Twitter. If you have any interest in what I listen to while working, follow me on Spotify. My home is in East Central Illinois where I live with my amazing and talented wife and three incredible girls, marvel at my collection of original artwork, cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals, root for University of Illinois athletics, and continue to look for the next big adventure.
